Experimental analysis of the flow in a generic extraction module
Public PublishedExtraction modules enable controlled steam extraction, for example to feed a district heating network, while at the same time reducing the turbine output generated. Depending on the set operating point, however, these extraction modules can have a sensitive effect on the surrounding flow field and cause time-dependent and highly asymmetrical component loads. Within the planned project, these operating point-dependent flow fields are to be experimentally measured and analyzed within a generic extraction module. With the help of the experimental measurement results on the generic model, the numerical findings are to be verified and examined with regard to their general validity.
